Terms & Conditions
Welcome to LiFi. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the LiFi mobile app and all related services (together, the "Services"). By downloading or using LiFi, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
We've written these as clearly as we can. If anything is unclear, reach out — we're happy to explain.
1. Who We Are
LiFi is an AI-powered voice companion app for language learning, built for curious, ambitious learners. The app is operated by LiFi ("we," "us," or "our"), based in the United Arab Emirates.
2. Eligibility
To use LiFi, you must:
- Be at least 13 years old
- Have the legal capacity to agree to these terms in your country
- Not be prohibited from using the Services under any applicable law
If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your country, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.
3. Your Account
When you create a LiFi account, you're responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secure and not sharing them
- All activity that happens under your account
- Providing accurate information when signing up
If you think your account has been compromised, contact us immediately. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Using LiFi
LiFi is here to help you learn languages through real-time AI conversation. When using the app, you agree to:
- Use it only for its intended purpose — personal language learning
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or exploit any part of the app or its AI systems
- Not use LiFi to generate, share, or store harmful, illegal, or abusive content
- Not attempt to circumvent any security or access controls
- Not use the app for any commercial purpose without our written permission
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of LiFi at any time. We'll do our best to give you notice when significant changes happen.
5. AI-Powered Conversations
LiFi uses artificial intelligence to power real-time voice conversations. A few things to keep in mind:
- Accuracy — AI responses are generated automatically and may sometimes be imperfect, incomplete, or incorrect. LiFi is a learning tool, not a certified language instructor.
- No storage — Your conversation data is processed in real time and automatically deleted when your session ends. We don't keep records of what you said.
- Third-party AI — To deliver the conversation experience, your voice and text are processed by AI service providers working on our behalf. This is covered in detail in our Privacy Policy.
- Not a substitute — LiFi is a supplement to your language learning journey, not a replacement for qualified human instruction where that matters.
6. Subscriptions & Payments
Some features of LiFi require a paid subscription. By subscribing:
- Billing — You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your plan) until you cancel.
- Pricing — Current pricing is shown in the app. We may change prices with reasonable advance notice.
- Cancellation — You can cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then.
- Refunds — Refund requests are handled in accordance with the policies of Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you purchased. We do not process refunds directly for app store purchases.
- Free trials — If we offer a free trial, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
7. Intellectual Property
Everything in LiFi — the app design, AI systems, content, branding, code, and name — is owned by or licensed to us. These terms don't give you any ownership rights.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of LiFi without our explicit written permission.
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas to us, you grant us the right to use them freely without any obligation to compensate you.
8. User Content
LiFi does not store your conversations. However, if you submit anything to us — such as support messages, feedback, or ratings — you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content to improve our services.
You are responsible for ensuring that anything you submit does not violate third-party rights or applicable laws.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
LiFi is provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep things running smoothly, but we make no guarantees that:
- The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available
- AI-generated responses will always be accurate, appropriate, or complete
- The app will meet every specific need or expectation you have
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LiFi and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or any harm resulting from AI-generated content.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of LiFi will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $10, whichever is greater.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LiFi and its team from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these terms or misuse of the Services.
12. Third-Party Services
LiFi integrates with third-party services (such as Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, and AI processing providers). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for how third-party services operate or handle your data outside of what is described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Termination
You can stop using LiFi at any time by deleting the app and your account.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if we are required to do so by law. Where possible, we'll give you notice before taking action.
Upon termination, your right to use LiFi ends immediately. Any provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions as LiFi grows and evolves. When we make material changes, we'll notify you inside the app and update the date at the top. Continuing to use LiFi after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
If you don't agree with a change, you can stop using the app and delete your account.
15. Governing Law
i These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of LiFi will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the UAE, unless local consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
